A decade of Scandinavian minimalism taught the peloton restraint. Now, halfway through 2026, something is shifting: the colours are getting deeper and quieter, while the personality moves into the details. Here's what we're seeing across the brands we track.

1. The end of the loud all-over print

The maximalist print era — full-kit graphics, clashing patterns, jerseys that looked like screensavers — is winding down at the premium end. What's replacing it is arguably harder to pull off: rich, saturated solid tones. Recycled fabrics have moved from marketing angle to baseline expectation, and the more interesting development is circularity: repair programmes, and reconditioned-kit initiatives like Velocio's Renewed programme, which puts restored garments back into circulation instead of landfill. For premium kit that costs what it costs, "built to be repaired" is becoming part of the value argument — and we'd argue it should factor into your buying decisions as much as fit does.

Let the personality come from a cap, a patch or socks, which cost a fraction of a jersey and can be rotated guilt-free.
